Hi everyone, thank you so much for taking your time to read my very first blog post. My name is Haojin Zhou, currently studying International Multimedia Journalism at Newcastle University. At last year I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Northumbria University. And I have worked as a digital content creator, freelance journalist and photographer in the past few years. So based on my sport and journalism related experience, I would like to start this blog to share knowledge and in-depth analysis of sport industry’s latest trends.
The sport industry had undergone dramatic changes at the start of the 21st Century thanks to the advent of digital and social media in the everyday lives of fans and sport professionals alike. The industry continues to evolve today and Sport Industry 101’s goal remains the same – to help those working within the industry connect with each other, share knowledge and ideas and to enable the sport industry to flourish in the digital age.
Today, in addition to this blog site and growing social media channels, Sport Industry 101 will bring the diverse strands of the sport industry together and act as a hub for those working within it to meet and share thoughts and best practices. And I will provide not only the substance of today’s news, but also the original features from the experienced interviewees provide in-depth analysis of the industry’s latest trends. Areas of industry coverage will include media; TV/Digital; marketing and sponsorships; technology; teams, leagues and other properties/governing bodies; facilities and franchises; and people/names in the news.
